Domain Name
The Domain name is what your visitor types into their navigation bar to get to your site. Think of it as your home address. Our domain name is www.thedogsonline.com. If you're a bit web savvy, you might wish to secure the domain name yourself. Otherwise, we'd be happy to do it for you. The benefit to having your own domain name is that, for example, www.prettyhavanese.com is much easier to remember then the long names you might be assigned by a free server.

Web Design
The first steps in Web Design are to determine how many pages you'll need and to choose a layout. The overall size of your web site will weigh heavily in your decision between HTML or CMS. We can provide samples for you to view.
HTML Design is typically used for a showcase/display type of web site which requires occasional updating/changing to reflect the sites information accurately. All of these designs are hand-coded by our team in XHTML/CSS and all documents will conform to XHTML standards and be confirmed as valid through the W3C Markup Validation Service.
CMS Design utilizes a web application to create and manage the HTML content of your web site. This type of design is best implemented on larger web sites or dynamic web sites that will require frequent updating to keep them current. CMS also (conveniently) allows non-technical users to make changes to an existing website via a browser-based interface which aids and simplifies content creation, content control, editing and other essential functions.
The next step is choosing your colors or theme. If you have a logo we can match your web colors to your design. Or perhaps you had a theme or style in mind. We've created websites with themes related to the State of Texas, stars, clocks, and more.
Finally, we work together, personalizing the site to make it yours. Your photos, words, dreams and plans go online for all to view. If you have digital photos, you'd need to send them to me via e-mail. If you don't have photos in digital form, for an additional fee, we can arrange to have you send us your photos and we'll scan them and return them to you. Keep in mind, we can't provide the text content for you. As you're choosing which photos to submit, start giving some thought to what you'd like your visitors (or customers) to know about your kennel, your dogs, or your new web business. If you are unable to provide your text electronically (via e-mail, Word Document, or CD), you may mail the documents to us. Transcribing the documents onto your website will be billed at our hourly rate of $25/hr .
Once we begin, we will provide you with a link to be able to view your site as it is being developed. We will begin by working on the layout of the main (index) page and for all secondary pages. We will be asking for your feedback throughout the process. All changes to the general layout of the site should be requested prior to your final approval. Once the design for those pages is completed and approved by you, we will develop the rest of the site. Any changes requested after final approval will be billed at our hourly rate of $50/hr (billed in 1/2 hour increments).

Custom Logos and Web Graphics
If you have a logo, we can match your web colors to your logo. If not, we'd be happy to take a photo you send us and use it to create the web graphics for your site. Many web sets (basic logo plus navigation images) take 1-2 hours to complete based on their complexity. We also offer graphically intense web sets which require extensive image manipulation/creation and deliver to you a 'one-of-a-kind' web site. Search Engine Optimization
In short, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume of traffic to a web site from search engines. The details of that, however, are much more involved. Most of the time, the search engines will naturally notice and then include your site in their listings. For instance, if you want folks to be able to find you by searching for your exact kennel name, then your site probably won't need to be optimized. If, however, you want folks to be able to search for "French Bulldog Puppies in Texas" and still find you, your site will require optimization. The extent of how close to the top of that search you want your site to be, will determine the amount of work needed. Image Slideshows and Gallery Pages
Flash-based Slideshows are similar to the Image Slideshows, except they appear on their own page. Typically, the photos are larger sized as well. This type of slideshow would be best suited to display photos of all of your dogs on one page. Because this slideshow resides on its own page, it is priced as any other "additional page" at $50.
Thumbnail Gallery Pages consist of small, "thumbnail" sized photos that link to their larger version. The benefit of this type of gallery is that your visitors can see all of your photos displayed at once without having to wait through the slide show. They can easily choose which ones they'd like to see full-sized. The downside would be the long, page-loading times for any visitors that may be on a slower web connection (dial-up). This gallery also resides on its own page.

Styled Pedigree Pages
We utilize a wonderful, free pedigree generator from SitStay.com. You simply enter the pedigree information, add my e-mail to the final step, and you're done! We will add this pedigree, as-is, to your site for FREE! You can see an example of the pedigree this system produces here.
Some clients, however, wish to have the pedigree styled a bit more. We can add red text for champions, add a background color or texture or even create a full-page, fully styled page like this one. Prices for these services range from $15 for adding a background texture to $50 for a fully styled pedigree.

Hosting Services
What if you need updates, and maybe some help - what if you dont? Or what if you already have a great site but want to get away from those annoying pop-ups and ads from the free servers? Perhaps you'd like to save a little on your hosting costs? It doesn't matter - the bottom line is that we offer very affordable Hosting Plans.
No hidden costs, surcharges or such nonsense. And no padding our prices to offer additional services. Any additional changes or updates done by us are billed at an hourly rate of $50/hr (minimum charge $25). Really, there's no need for you to pay extra for services you may or may not use.
